Experience Upper Court

Fifteen acres to spread out in, and plenty to fill a weekend. Throw a pot, pull a print, swim before breakfast or take the boat out across the lake. Come for a hen weekend, a family gathering or a few days away, and do as much or as little as you like.

Pottery Experience

Spend an afternoon at the wheel in our on-site studio. Sessions are hands-on and suit complete beginners as much as those who've thrown before. You'll be guided through centring, shaping and finishing, and leave with a piece of your own to take home once it's fired. A favourite for hen weekends, family groups and anyone after a quiet, absorbing couple of hours.

Printmaking Experience

Make something to keep. Choose from etching, screen-printing or the heat press, and work up a design of your own across the session. It's relaxed, a little messy, and works for all ages and abilities. It's good for groups who want to make together. Everyone goes home with a finished print.

Tennis Court Hire

Our court is yours to book through your stay. Bring your own kit or hire rackets and balls from the office. Knock about for an hour or run a proper tournament across a weekend. It's one of the easiest ways to get a mixed group of all ages outside and playing together.

Frequently asked questions

Most activities are for guests staying on the estate, and are best added to your booking before you arrive so the studios, court or pool heating are ready for you. If you're a local group hoping to book a pottery or printmaking session without staying, ask us, we'll let you know what's possible.
Yes! Most are at their best with a group. Pottery, printmaking and pilates run as group sessions in the studios, the tennis court takes a whole party, and the hot tub, sauna and boating all suit a crowd. Tell us your numbers when you enquire and we'll arrange sessions to fit.
None at all. Both run for complete beginners as readily as for people who've done it before, with an instructor guiding you through. You'll leave with something you've made yourself.

Add them through the enquiry form, ideally before you arrive. The studios, tennis court, hot tub and sauna are all booked ahead so they're ready when you want them. Pool heating in particular needs arranging in advance. Once you're on site, the office can help with anything you've not already booked.
